Angela Davis-Gardner is a noted author and English professor from North Carolina. This collection documents the writing and teaching career of Angela Davis-Gardner beginning with her early work in 1963 and ending in 2012 with the publication of Butterfly's Child.

The mission of the Dean of Students Office is to contribute to the educational mission of the University by initiating programs and services that support an environment conducive to academic and personal development. This record group consists of annual reports, committee reports, working papers, correspondence, minutes, and handbooks related to the Dean of Students Office which date from 1935-1989.

The State Normal and Industrial School was founded, in part, as a university dedicated to the education of future educators. The Office of the Dean of the School of Education, therefore, has been integral to the university from its inception. The collection contains 49 boxes of materials which include correspondence, minutes, course proposals, an archive of the department's website, and an assortment of other records pertaining to the Office of the Dean.
